Claire Tietgen was born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. As a child, she struggled in school. She was different and did not fit within the traditional framework of public school. Although there were special needs programs in place, they didn’t take into consideration how Claire learned. Claire and her parents struggled to figure out how to make things better for Claire.
After falling behind in school for years and failing nearly every class, Claire took the Kolbe Student Aptitude Assessment. She found her strengths, and her parents worked with the school to make accommodations that worked for Claire’s personal needs. She went from failing to making As/Bs! Plus, this new self-knowledge has allowed Claire to be more resilient in all situations.
E3 saved my life. Without E3 & Kolbe I would still be lost.
Now that I know my MO I’ve found myself again.
It made things a lot clearer to me.
It made me feel good, because I now know why I learn and do day-to-day tasks differently than the people around me.
I am grateful for E3. The information we gained in knowing my son is a Fact Finder (Navigator) changed everything.
Before we received his results, WE WOULD ARGUE about the smallest of things. Honestly, it was A POWER STRUGGLE that only left both us sad and frustrated. After learning my son’s natural instincts, everything changed. I had to start giving him space and working with his natural responses. At first it was hard because I had done things the same way for years. Allowing him to get things done at his own pace helped 100%. This has taken weeks to get used to, but it’s worth it. We haven’t had any more power struggles. THIS HAS ACTUALLY MADE US EVEN CLOSER AND ACCEPTING OF EACH OTHER’S DIFFERENCES.
I still see positive changes happening week by week in our combination. I look forward to continuing to learn more of how my son thinks. I feel it can only be positive and I have E3 to thank for that change. Thank you.
PARENT OF A 15-YEAR-OLD
The change I feel knowing that I’m a Navigator is helping me be more confident in myself.
It has helped us all work better together knowing what each other’s strengths are.

I think the biggest gain in taking these assessments for myself is to be able to apply them immediately in a positive way into our lives, into our relationships, into our work, into school and IEP meetings.
Going forward, these evaluations will prove beneficial in so many life situations that have yet to occur, and I feel better prepared for myself and for my son. Not only does the lightbulb “aha moment” occur when you read your assessment, but also the warmth of the light has an IMMEDIATE EFFECT THAT ADDS COMFORT SIMPLY FROM BETTER KNOWING WHAT DRIVES ME INTERNALLY and to continue to follow that drive. I think quicker decision-making will occur and less self-doubt. Less anxiety thinking too much about the process and just letting the process happen.
I’M EXCITED TO SEE THE RIPPLE EFFECT THE KNOWLEDGE AND INSIGHT WILL PROVIDE WITHIN OUR LIVES. For some things it isn’t about HOW you got there, it’s simply that you got there! Thank you so much!

Now that I’m aware of how I approach situations DIFFERENTLY THAN MY CHILDREN, it has HELPED IMMENSELY with general communication and setting expectations.
JIM “MR. STINKY FEET” COSGROVE, CLIENT & FATHER OF A CLIENT
It was so refreshing to learn more about myself and my son as to how we naturally / instinctively do things! And those instincts, when understood, can be very powerful for self growth. I also loved seeing the relief in my son’s face when he realized he has amazing instincts – what an awesome confidence boost for him. Such a positive experience for both of us to understand each other better.
